Very Merry Quarantime

It's time for another fun break from reality!  After celebrating "Quarantine-O-Ween" last month, I vowed that I'd celebrate more fake holidays if this kept going.  It only took me about 2 seconds to decide to celebrate my absolute favorite holiday when we reached the 25th of April and here we are!!!  I've taken a leaf from the "Very Merrytime" Disney Cruises and have dubbed my little holiday "Very Merry Quarantime".

As you know, I'm a huge fan of the holidays.  I love any excuse to celebrate.  In March, I decided to celebrate Quarantine-O-Ween on the 31st after seeing a post on social media.  Afterward, I was 100% sold on celebrating more made up holidays if this kept going on long enough.  Christmas was at the top of my list so I decided that April 25th, I was doing it.  Plus, since it's Saturday, Eliot got roped into the celebration this time!

Usually, Christmas Eve celebrations consist of traditional things like reading The Night Before Christmas and setting cookies out for Santa.  For Very Merry Quarantime, I spent the night before curling up in bed and watching the Walt Disney World broadcast of Happily Ever After on their Facebook page.  (Watch on YouTube here.)

I had a really bad night of sleep.  (I've been having a rough time sleeping lately.)  I finally fell asleep around 2:30 am and was awake again right before 4:00 am.  I didn't fall back asleep until after 6:30 am.  Eliot and I finally woke up right after noon so at that point we were already behind in the day.  Instead of going all out like I originally planned to, we went about our day and decided to celebrate after dinnertime.

After eating dinner, we got into our Mickey and Minnie Christmas sweaters and took pictures with the Christmas tree.  Then, I took a few pictures with our Mickey and Minnie porch greeters.  Then, we watched Hallmark Christmas movies while enjoying the soft glow of our Christmas tree- which we never took down.  Actually, it's probably been up for a few years now... we just leave it up so we can enjoy it.

It was nice to take the night off and watch Christmas at Dollywood and Christmas Town.  We had both movies on the DVR from the two Christmas movie marathon weekends Hallmark did last month when quarantine just started.  (Like I mentioned before, Eliot and I are trying to watch all of the Hallmark movies now that we have an app to keep track of them.)  I especially enjoyed watching Christmas at Dollywood since Eliot and I went there for the first time last June!

Finally, my favorite part of today was putting my own Very Merry Quarantime spin on the classic carol We Wish You A Merry Christmas.  It's time for a singalong!!!

We all have to social distance, We all have to social distance,
We all have to social distance, so we're staying right here!
Good tidings of joy, from our home to yours.
It's Very Merry Quarantime, so we're bringing you cheer!

I hope you enjoyed reading about our simple, little Christmas celebration.  If this keeps going into the next few months... I'll probably be doing a part 2 at some point!  Eliot and I hope you are well and we wish you a Very Merry Quarantime!!!  °o°
