Homesick For My Other Home

So this week I've been feeling a little homesick for my "other" home.  Thankfully, I've found a few ways to help ease the pain:

My Disney obsession is well known to my friends and they will post things on my Facebook wall that always cheers me up!  This week, my best friend Katie and her roommate Rachel found a Disney Minnie Mouse inspired Harvey's Seatbelt bag at one of the stores in my hometown.  I love the bright pink!  And I didn't realize that the inside had Minnie Mouse! (Ironically, Katie and I had gone shopping in this exact store while I was home.  I was telling her that Harvey's had a Disney line.)

My cousin Heather also sent me a link for a bunch of Disney themed engagement rings.  I love looking at Disney inspired anything.  But shiny things are a personal weakness.  The Megara one resembles my pear shaped engagement ring the most, but if I had to pick one, I think I'd go for the Rapunzel.  I love how the band looks braided like her hair!

Wheel of Fortune is also having their Making Disney Memories Week.  I love Wheel of Fortune and it's a well loved show in my family.  My Mom, Nana and me really need to go on the show.  We duke it out over who will figure the puzzle out first.  I've watched Monday and Tuesday's shows and both have had a few puzzles that are Disney related!  (I wish every week was Disney week.)  Pat and Vanna have been escorted by Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy.  And they keep showing clips of Disney World and Disneyland.  Sigh… is it January yet?!?!?!

Yesterday Disney announced on their blog that they were releasing their Glow with the Show ears in Walt Disney World October 15th.  Eliot just bought a pair for World of Color while he was in California last week.  I guess that was good timing!  According to the blog post, the Mickey Ear Hats will debut at Fantasmic on October 15th.  On the 19th, the ears will be incorporated into Wishes and Celebrate the Magic, both at the Magic Kingdom.  I'm personally really excited that they're also going to have the ears work with The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights and Holiday Wishes.  (I'm hoping that means that they'll eventually work with Hallowishes as well!  I LOVE HalloWishes!!!)

Speaking of HalloWishes, tonight is the first night of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, also known as MNSSHP.  This is probably the biggest contributing factor to my homesickness.  A year ago, Eliot and I went to MNSSHP twice during our wedding trip.  I love the parade and fireworks.  The fireworks show is our favorite, although, we still haven't seen the Christmas fireworks yet.  I also LOVE the Boo to You Parade!  I was so excited when I found the soundtrack of it at the parks.  Eliot and I listen to it most of October to get in the Halloween spirit.  Although I can't be there tonight personally, I am definitely there in spirit!  Maybe I'll check out YouTube for some parade videos…
