Hockey Goes Disney Part 2

The first round of the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs start tonight and Eliot and I are both pumped.  Well, if I'm being totally honest, I have a giant pit in my stomach which I've decided is a combination of nerves and excitement.  Those of you who visit often know that Eliot and I are both HUGE San Jose Sharks fans.

Our beloved Sharks start their series with the Vegas Golden Knights tonight.  (They're the team that knocked us out of the playoffs last year.)  We have had our struggles against them, but I'm confident that we can beat them, especially since Eliot and I just saw a Sharks win against Vegas in overtime just a few short days ago!

You might remember that back in September, I wrote a post about hockey getting a little more magical.  Two of Eliot's and my favorite things had collided: Disney and hockey!  I first discovered the Mickey NHL team gear at the end of August when I was searching for Sharks shirts to prepare for this season.  JCPenney was running a good sale on their team merchandise, and I happened to stumble across a men's Mickey Mouse San Jose Sharks shirt.  The rest is history.

I placed a huge order through JCPenney of that original San Jose Sharks Disney merchandise.  (We have most of the stuff in that post.)  Shortly after, I realized they'd added more Disney merchandise.  I've included a few of those items in this post.

Yeah... I've got most of this stuff too actually.  I think at this point I've got all of the Women's v-neck shirts except the Rally Ears design.  (I think Mickey looks too mean!)

I could say that I regret my crazy shopping sprees, but I don't.  In fact, in the past few months, I've worn some of my Disney Sharks shirts both at Walt Disney World and to the Shark Tank in San Jose!  (They're the only shirts I wore during our entire trip to San Jose last month.)  I even got my picture taken with my favorite hockey player while I was wearing the Mickey Mouse Sharks shirt below!

Plus, each year the Sharks have both a Star Wars and Marvel themed night at two of their home games.  So it's another good excuse to have some extra gear.  Eliot and I might not be able to attend those specific nights in person, but now we'll have shirts to wear while watching the games from Maine!

Most of the shirt designs are available in both men's and women's styles.  They have a few geared for kids as well.  Then, there are usually a few different types of clothing for each design.  (For example: I have both the v-neck and sweatshirt of the Go Sharks Mickey shirt.)  I also might eventually get us a few of the long sleeve shirts... but that's for San Jose Sharks Disney merchandise shopping spree number three.

You can bet that I'll be wearing something teal to support our boys during the game later on tonight!  Let's do this!  Go Sharks!!!  °o°

When the Going Gets Tough...

We're back from sunny California!  Despite the scoreboard not tilting in the San Jose Sharks favor, Eliot and I had a great time.  It definitely was a trip we'll never forget!

In addition, my ear finally cleared itself somewhere on the return trip from San Jose to Maine.  Although, it wasn't the resounding *pop* I was expecting... I just suddenly realized I could hear from my right ear again.  There wasn't much celebration though... as instead I've got yet another wave of the flu bug.  (And this wave has been the worst of it so far.  Argh.)  I really can't seem to catch a break this winter.

I'll recap our California trip more in another post.  I honestly don't have much energy and I can only stay at my computer for a little bit before resorting to the comfort of the couch or bed.  This trip definitely deserves all the glory of my full energy.

In the meantime, I've gotten well acquainted with the back of my eyelids.  On Tuesday, I actually took two separate naps totaling 6 hours.  (I even missed the entire first period of the Sharks game, including a goal from my favorite player who made his return off the injured list.)  I returned to bed promptly when the game was over.

Wednesday and Thursday were much of the same.  I mustered enough energy to go to Eliot's and my Resin Geode class last night, and I did pretty well.  I really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun creating a different design than my other one.  Eliot enjoyed the abstract nature a lot more than he's enjoyed going to paint nights.  Unfortunately, I paid for it on the way home.  While he was picking up a few quick things in Walmart, I got coughing so badly that I almost threw up.  It's been alarming how many times I've caught myself gasping for air or feeling like I'm choking when I'm coughing.

So, here I sit with absolutely no idea what move to make next.  I've taken six different medications over the past month.  At this point, I don't even know what to take since my symptoms seem to change hourly.  One hour I think I need sinus congestion medicine and then the next I can't stop coughing.  I've never been one to like doctors and hospitals, but part of me is tempted to go to the emergency room to beg them to make me feel better.  My daydreams have shifted from lazy days at Castaway Cay to laying in a hospital bed with someone taking care of my aching body.

But, when the going gets tough, the tough get going.  I've never been one to let life pass me by.  So even though I feel like absolute crap, I keep chugging on.  (At least I'm attempting to!)  I'm trying to focus first on taking care of myself: getting sleep, drinking fluids and resting a lot.  Then, I'm trying to get us caught up on mouse ear orders.  The rest will fall into place. Hopefully, I'll emerge from this sickness once and for all!  °o°

April 2019 Calendar

Happy April Friends!!!  We're already through 1/4 of the year.  It's flying right by for me, but I can't complain because we're that much closer to spring!  The weather here in Maine has started to warm up a little.  The snow is almost gone and I'm dreaming of green grass and flowers.  It won't be too much longer!  In the meantime, here are my free April Mickey and Minnie printable calendars.

I'm so humbled and honored to continue the tradition of posting my free printable calendars for other Disney fans to enjoy.  This is my 5th year!!!  I started making these back when I started my blog in 2014.  I first designed them as a way to track Eliot's and my RunDisney training and it's come so far!  I was so happy with how they turned out that I had to share them with everyone else.  To date, my printable calendars have been used for Disney trip countdowns, Disney themed classrooms, training calendars for runDisney events and to surprise kids with a Disney vacation!

Here's the link to download the April 2019 PDF version of the printable.

Feel free to link this post up to Pinterest or Facebook so your friends and family can have a fun Mickey and Minnie calendar too!  Let's spread the Disney Magic!!!  °o°

Note: I've made calendars through 2019.  I don't post the PDF links on my blog until the beginning of each month.  If you're looking for a particular month and would like me to email it to you ahead of my post going live, you can send my blog an email at mydisneylifeblog[at]gmail.com.  I'll send you the PDFs directly as soon as I can!  :-)
