Week Recap

Hello Friends!  I'm sorry that I've kind of been MIA for the past week or so.  Eliot was visiting his family and our favorite mouse in California and I spent some time with my friends and family!  Here's a recap of the past week:

The day before Eliot left for his trip, I went down to Boston to spend some time with four of our closest Disney friends.  I had a few projects that I'd been working on for them that I wanted to bring.  First up, Nico and Anthony are huge Phineas and Ferb fans (just like me and Eliot) so I had to make them something Perry inspired.  I've been pretty careful with the photos I've been posting since I've been working on their Perry flowerpot over the past few weeks and they read my blog.  So I'm super glad that I didn't spoil the surprise.  They absolutely loved it!  I'm actually quite impressed with my painting skills.  (I'd been avoiding painting his face for a few weeks.)  Now I can't wait to finish the one that I started for Eliot and me!

Next up, Katie and BJ got the second set of Mickey and Minnie flowerpots that I've been working on, as well as a sign that was supposed to be done for them last Christmas!  Eliot and I moved to Maine right when I was working on their Christmas present, and it's been in storage since then.  I finished painting the text on it last month and now they finally have it!

I absolutely love how the welcome sign came out!  I think that the ears are my favorite part.  I'm planning to make one for Eliot and I to put in our Mickey and Minnie themed bathroom!

Speaking of our bathroom, after Eliot left for California, I had about 24 hours before my family was coming down to visit me.  I spent a good part of it cleaning and relaxing.  I did finally finish our bathroom shelf and I decorated it as well.  I love how it turned out!  The Mickey Mouse gloves give it that magical touch.  Plus, the miniature Mickey and Minnie flowerpots are really cute on it.

Sunday, my family and I went to Boston for the day.  We spent a few hours at the Prudential Tower Mall and I found this funny Halloween candle holder in the Yankee Candle store.  I thought that it was a cute play off of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.  Bone White holds a poisoned apple and is accompanied by the dwarves: Slimey, Creepy, Crawly, Scary, Icky, Yucky, and Spooky.

Meanwhile, Eliot was spending the weekend at Disneyland and California Adventure.  He sent me photos via text every once in a while.  This was his first time seeing Carsland.  He was also pretty excited to see the newer version of World of Color.  Since it was Disneyland's Race Weekend, Eliot went to check out the Expo and made sure to talk to a lot of people about runDisney events.

I also got to virtually ride (parts of) Pirates of the Caribbean via cell phone.  Eliot and I have a tradition that he takes me on it when he goes to Disneyland.  Since there are the two drops, the cell phone fuzzes in and out, but I did hear that "dead men tell no tales" and I also recognized the familiar voice of Captain Jack Sparrow.  Eliot also took a few photos of the Disney sweets for me as I have a strange obsession with getting pictures of them.  He's a great husband!  Check out those awesome cake pops!

Back on the East Coast, I was traveling with my Mom and grandparents back up to my hometown for a few days while Eliot was still away.  My brother, Jeremy, had this week off, so it was a good opportunity to spend a few days back home.  On the way, we stopped at a JoAnn Fabrics store so I could show my Nana the fabric that I've been looking at for our bathroom curtains.  Luckily for me, they not only had it, but the entire bolt of fabric was still in tact!  My Mom bought it for me since she was so impressed with how cute our bathroom was turning out.  Eliot hasn't seen my entire design for it, but he loves what I've done so far.  I can't wait to surprise him when it's all put together!

Jeremy also stopped at a Toys R Us so he could try to find him and Eliot the exclusive Crystal Lightning McQueen Disney Infinity figure.  He was successful and I was so excited to send Eliot a text showing him that we finally found one for him!

While I was home, I also took inventory of our old board games.  Eliot and I love playing board games and I wanted to bring a few of them home with me so we could try them out.  I found some that Jeremy and I got when we were just kids, and I probably haven't played them in at least 15 years.  So I'm looking forward to that!

Eliot's trip was coming to an end and he went to see Planes with his sister before he had to leave for his flight back to Boston.  He got this cute photo of him with Olaf the snowman from Disney's Frozen.

Now that Eliot's home, we're preparing for some projects around the house.  I've got a few more flowerpots and signs to finish, and then I'm hoping to switch gears to making Halloween projects for next month!   °o°

    1. Hey Debbie! My husband actually had these for another project and since he had some extras, I stole some of them! He doesn't remember where he bought them originally. I know eBay sometimes has Mickey glove paper towel holders. Disney had fabric keychains that are similar the last time I went.
